GoldenEye for the N64 took up a fair amount of my time. Beyond the multiplayer genius, there were challenges to complete levels within a certain amount of time in order to unlock bonus cheat modes.
By far the hardest thing in the game was getting the ‘Invincible’ cheat. You had to complete the ‘Facility’ level in under 2mins5secs. Plenty of bad guys stood in your way and you just didn’t have time to kill them all. So, it was the ultimate exercise in prioritisation and restraint. It took me hours. By the time I succeeded in doing it, I was at one with the game.
It’s definitely a classic in my eyes.
